I've just added two profiles for GTA: San Andreas to the database (http://www.nhancer.com/profiles)
Please also check out the News Page (http://www.nhancer.com/news.php) for some additional comments and the reason why this site isn't updated as often as I'd like.

So you finally found a way to get SLI to work in GTA:SA! cool .. now all what i need is to get the game itself :D

Good job much appreciated, i can say the game works fine for me atleast in SLI under 64bit XP, without fiddling with the settings on the other hand there is always room for improvments. :D

I don't want to take credit here, it was Blaire, a fellow german forum dweller SLI user :)
But the game is worth getting, if you don't mind the violent setting and ghetto talk.

Hi,
as I'm new here I'd first like to say a big thanks to Martin for creating nHancer - IHMO nvidia should've come with something like, especially considering the ''speed'' at which new profiles are added in their drivers.
With that aside, the selfish person I am ;) I'm of course posting because of having a problem with the GTA SA SLI profile:
When using the 71.89 drivers the profile is working fine, but as soon as I'm switching to a driver >= 77.50 the picture starts to flicker making the whole thing unplayable. It looks to me as if the cards get out of sync and try to overtake each other. Furthermore with the drivers 77.50/77.62 the picture gets some kind of greenish taint - the same green used for showing load balancing. (77.72 resolves this problem for me).
I've tried switching all AFR bits on but the corruption remained. So I like to ask if anyone is having similar problems and if any fix is known.
Cheers,

Thanks one! :)
The problem you mention has been reported by many people. Blaire (or Jimbobb as he's known here) has fixed the profile but I haven't updated the database with it yet.
Just select "AFR" and select the compatibility flags 22, 25, and 26. Clear all other flags. That should do the trick.

Hey, thanks for the quick reply :D
I guess you're refering to the post in the SLI forum (http://www.nhancer.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=56), aren't you?
I've already tried that but it didn't help :( ... but at least I'm now quiet (or was it quite ? D'OH) good in 'driver deinstalling - driver cleaner running - driver installing' ;)
... perhaps it's a problem with the palit 6600gts (e.g. the BIOS) I'm using ?!?
Cheers.

I dont have that problem. i dont think its the BIOS either.

Mmhh...
I've tried the ''new'' WHQL certified 77.72 last night, running driver cleaner after removing the 71.89, just to be sure that I haven't made any mistake, but the flickering remains.
I played a bit around with the AFR-bits and the 77.72:
The least flickering I got by selecting exactly the ''HL2'' bits, selecting the ''tomb raider bits'' (or was it the AFR2-bits - not sure about that) additionally gave me that greenisch flickering again.
Still thanks for your reply!

You are welcome :)
i know the flickering you are talking about because i had it in some other games .. but mostly its comes in the 2D menus & rarely comes in the in-game.
the only flickering i had with GTA was in the intro logos & videos .. it goes away after that. now with the 77.72 i think it completely gone for me.
you could still try some other bits .. maybe one of them will work for you. & you could try my Boiling Point AFR2 bits just for the heck of it. i had some in-game flickering skies & fixed it with those compatability bits.
also try reinstalling the game from scratch. that could help too.

Thanks SH64.
I've just reinstalled SA as it started to deadlock everytime I finished a mission successfully. Reinstalling helped to resolve the deadlocking but SLI still doesn't work.
I also tried your Boiling Point profile - with no success either.
So I guess I wait for the next driver revision - this shouldn't take too long (I hope ;) ) as nV has to fix that video-gamma-bug.
On the other hand that might be a good point to give winxp64 a try.
So thanks for all your help again.
Cheers!
off topic: Does anyone of you know whether in 'single mode' the second gfx-card is switched off or if it's running at full speed consuming unnecessarily power - just curious about that.

As far as I know as soon as the card is connected it always consumes power and produces heat (about as much as any card while the desktop is up).
nVidia doesn't turn off the card, even if you disable SLI completely in the drivers.

Thanks Grestorn
Just checked it with everest (could have come up with that sooner) both cards are always running at the same clock speed (i.e. desktop 300, 3d 500) - even in single mode, which seems to me a pretty stupid way of wasting energy.
Let's hope nVidia will fix that in the next driver releases - especially considering the temps here in Germany right now :D.

I dont call that stupid as long as its running on 2D mode only. switching the card on & off everytime you run a game might damage it or wear off the fan pretty quick as well as shortening its life gradually.
