Which profiles aren't working? Is it game related or are some profiles stop working only some of the times?
I'm pretty sure that there's no problem with localized versions of Windows, since I'm using a german XP version myself.

i mean direct3d games specifically which are not always working, i posted more info about this here: http://www.nhancer.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1050#1050 i did a new test with a russian winxp sp2 installation and it is affected as well,
grestorn, can you do a test for me in your german installation? if so, just create a dxdiag.exe based profile and disable vsync for it, but leave vsync on the global driver settings, now, load any video from www.youtube.com (flash player 8 installed required, don't forget) and while a video loads, run dxdiag, go to the display diagnostics and run the direct 3d test....you know, if profile is still working the boxes should spin very fast meaning vsync is disabled or you can use fraps to ensure frames are not going higher than monitor's refresh rate.
one last thing: can you please tell me what video card are you using?

Hm, as I've already said, I noticed several problems with disabled or forced VSync. It might very well be, that the driver doesn't honor the VSync setting in the profile in certain situations. I can't tell when this happens, it's just my experience.
And also the fact that there are other applications running which are using certain resources of the gfx card driver - e.g. like a flash player - might also have an influence on the capability of the driver to apply profile settings.
All of these are related to the driver and its profile mechanism (if you use RegMon to check when the driver is actually reading the profile entries, you'll see that the driver's behaviour can be extremely confusing). There's little I can do about this.
But I still don't think that it's related to the language of the windows installation. I never heard about any problems with localized windows versions and profiles.
one last thing: can you please tell me what video card are you using?I've got 2 7800GTX

ok, my latest test was on winxp pro sp2 bundle english version all patches installed and the problem occurs there, the problem seems to be related with the geforce 6800gt most likely since the other guy having issues with profiles (Envil) has got this videocard as well as me, i have tested with the latest 91.31
with same problems.
sounds more likely nvidia quickly forgetting testing and support for their old products (as usual)to me

im only using vsync for reference as one of the profile options, as i mentioned in my other post, the problem occurs with any profile setting selected, even if vsync is unchecked.
well......... thank for your interest, since you have one of nvidia lates products and are not affected, i understand you cannot help.
bye. :(
