Sorry if this is a perpetual thread, but did a quick search and didn't find anything.
I have been trying to install nHancer. Advice from elsewhere was to install .NET 1.1 and nHancer 1.2.2. Intalled .NET 1.1 and nHancer 1.2.2 successfully but when loading nHancer for the first time got a XML error message. So adviced to download a revised XML file (the one with simpsons and the & and "and" problem resolved) and installed it.
Now get another XML error message when loading nHancer for the first time ..... the (3,4) one.
Any suggestions please? If solution threaded elsewhere please redirect me.
Thank You.
Edit: :!: :!: :!: Ooops! Sorry ...... two below this thread   go and check it out ...... must learn to search properly

Right .......... the Guest in thread (4,3) was my advisor ....... so Grestorn your second suggestion:
"........ Or you can resolve the problem yourself by following the procedure described here: http://www.nhancer.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=138 ......"
...... I have done to the letter. ..... get the xml error ....(4,3). Except my nVidia SLI driver is 83.40 not 81.95. Is nVidia driver 83.40 incompatible with nHancer 1.2.2? :(
Your first suggestion:
" ....... You can either check out the beta version available here: http://www.nhancer.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=148 ......"
....... are you suggesting I load .NET 2.0 (which I did originally, but it wouldn't work with driver 83.40 and nHancer1.2.2) and nHancer 2.0 beta 7? :?:
Thanks for your help.

Hi,
the problem is the character & in the profile name "Simpsons: Hit & Run". If you remove the letter (i.e. replace it with "and"), nHancer 1.x will work just fine.
You can also use nHancer 2 beta (which also requires .NET 2.0). I included a workaround for the problem in nHancer 2 so you don't have to edit the profile yourself.
I hope that answers your question?

Thanks for the feedback, but I've done all that (see above:) ... to repeat:
Installed .NET 1.1 ........ updated the 83.40 driver with the revised vnapps.xml file and checked it so it shows "and" instead of "&" ....... installed nHancer 1.2.2 ......... rebooted .......... started nHancer and get the error message: xml document error (4,3)
Please assist further.
Thanks, Wombat

Hi Greston
I thought I'd take your alternative advice being as I am having that (4,3) xml error with .NET 1.1 and nHancer 1.2.2; and install .NET 2.0 and nHancer 2.0 Beta 7 (32 bit).
All went well until I tried opening nHancer by double clicking on the nHancer 32bit\nHancer.exe file. I get this error message:
Error reading the profile file: Unknown Node Name: #text - Local Name: #text Namespace URI - Unknown Node Text:
Please make sure you reboot your machine after installing a new driver
Any suggestions please.
PS I don't need the nHancer 2.0 Beta 7 (64 bit) version do I?
